The Fort Myers Police Department has joined with a location-based safety network to help city residents stay safe and informed.
Atlas One, a public safety network that sends alerts to a smartphone when there is an emergency situation, is now available for download on iOS or Android smartphone devices and replaces the existing TRUEBLUE app.
Atlas One allows the police department to send geo-fenced push notification alerts when a public safety concern occurs near a user’s current location, or near places residents care about, such as their home, school, or office.

Alerts are interactive and can include text, photos, videos, documents, and even voice recordings. The app allows access to existing services and resources such as the FMPD public records portal, crime tips, interactive guides, website, community engagement services, social media accounts, and contact information.
After downloading the free iOS or Android Atlas One App:
-
Tap “GET STARTED” to create your Atlas One profile
-
Share your location or add favorite places that you want to track
-
If an alert occurs nearby your current location, or places you track, the app will send a push notification alert
-
Fort Myers Police Department can also publish incidents, events, places, and guides, and include interactive information such as directories, maps, news updates, links, and FAQ’s.
