Startup Junkie Foundation of Fayetteville has named Caleb Talley its executive director, effective Oct. 25.

He will succeed outgoing director Taylor Hasley, who took over the role in March 2020 after the departure of longtime executive director Haley Allgood. Hasley is leaving to serve as CFO of his father’s growing entrepreneurial enterprises, according to a news release.

Talley joined the Startup Junkie Foundation team as its marketing and events director in May 2019. Previously, he served as editor of Arkansas Money & Politics and AY Magazine.

Talley said Halsey had set a good example for leading the organization, which has “an amazing core team.” He also said he will have the opportunity to add people to that team.

While Halsey was executive director, Startup Junkie served more than 2,000 entrepreneurs and small business owners and secured more than $2 million in state, federal and private funding. Also, as director of the Fuel Accelerator, Hasley helped recruit out-of-state technology firms to the region and expanded the organization’s reach to South Korea through the creation of the Arkansas Korea Alliance.

Matthew Ward, a Stephens equity research associate and a former Startup Junkie associate consultant, will direct the Fuel Accelerator program and serve as a consultant.
