Dying Light 2’s New DLC Authority Pack Is All About Peacekeepers

Developers of Dying Light 2 deliver the first free DLC with the Authority Pack, outfitting players with Peacekeeper gear to help keep the peace.

Fans of the zombie-slaying parkour sequel Dying Light 2 Stay Human will soon be treated to free DLC that may help establish order in the zombie-invested city. The latest from developer Techland has given gamers plenty to gnaw on, with early claims stating that Dying Light 2 would take 500 hours to discover 100% of what the game has to offer. Players are able to explore the game’s massive European City alone or with up to three friends, and since launch Dying Light 2 adopters have been finding lots of content, bugs, and hidden easter eggs.

When Dying Light 2 launched on February 4th, gamers experienced many bugs that caused texture and enemy loading issues, player disconnections, and performance problems. While the developer released a day one patch that claimed to fix over 1000 bugs in Dying Light 2, Techland is also working on releasing the first round of free DLC – and Dying Light 2 players can enjoy the first much sooner than expected.

Less than two weeks after its release, the developers of Dying Light 2 Stay Human have released a trailer for the game’s first free DLC on the Dying Light YouTube channel. This Dying Light 2 DLC is titled the Authority Pack, which promises to outfit players with formidable new gear. The trailer below showcases the game’s tough peacekeepers who attempt to keep order with effective protective gear and brutal weaponry. Techland plans to support and release DLC for Dying Light 2 for the next five years. The first free DLC for Dying Light 2 will have the Authority Pack release in three separate parts, culminating in a new heavy weapon – which is shown in the trailer below making short work of enemies threatening the fragile peace. Players can now download part one of the free gear and preview the following two parts of Dying Light 2’s Authority Pack on Techland’s website.

Many DL2 players are having a blast exploring the game’s large map, which gives players almost twice as much space to explore compared to the first game. Unlocking new abilities and attacks makes Dying Light 2’s parkour and action an exciting adventure for players willing to master its movement system. Enough players were enjoying the game to put Dying Light 2 on Steam’s most concurrent players list, with more than 275,000 people logged into the game at its peak. If the game’s developer can deliver on the amount of post-launch content promised, Dying Light 2 should continue to provide new reasons to keep players coming back for a long time.

The newly announced Authority Pack is only the beginning of what Techland has in store for Dying Light 2 DLC. While many players have felt the game’s original story and characters were too generic, the developer promises to explore new stories and areas in future DLC releases. Future updates and DLC will hopefully expand the world of Dying Light 2 Stay Human in a substantial way that will keep fans excited.
