A new overview trailer for Elden Ring puts all of the game’s pieces together in a six-minute video to showcase what players can expect on February 25.
The long wait is nearly over as Elden Ring recently dropped a new overview trailer for the game in preparation for its release at the end of this upcoming week. After long stretches of no information as well as some delays, FromSoftware’s new open world title will finally come into players’ possessions on February 25.
Fans have been excited for Elden Ring ever since the announcement trailer debuted back in 2019. Until this past year, however, details for the open world title were minimal as development had to adjust to a world in a pandemic. Last year’s gameplay showcase, however, catapulted Elden Ring to one of 2022’s most anticipated games and the hype has not lessened since. Now fans only have a few more days to wait before the title finally comes home.
In preparation for its debut, Elden Ring‘s final marketing push has begun and now features a new six-minute overview for players on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. There is a lot that fans of FromSoftware’s games will recognize in the trailer, yet the main focus is on what is new. Much of the information provided in the overview is nothing those who have closely followed Elden Ring‘s development do not already know, however it does bring it all together to demonstrate how the many mechanics work cohesively.
This combination of design components looks like it will generate a significantly new experience for anyone who has played Dark Souls or a similar FromSoftware title. For one thing, the game’s director Hidetaka Miyazaki claims Elden Ring will be less stressful than its predecessors. That is not to say, however, that FromSoftware has removed its notorious difficulty, as certain staples like hard optional bosses and frustrating poison swamps are still part of the overall makeup.
While there seems to be a lot that sets Elden Ring apart from the likes of Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, it is understandably still getting many comparisons to its predecessors. Striking the balance of new and old is a tough feat to pull off, but FromSoftware has proven over the years it is a developer certainly capable of meeting that challenge. There are a lot of Souls features Elden Ring fans would like to see in the open-world title, many of which appear to be present, but it seems that they have been combined in a way to make the formula feel fresh. Fans will be able to fully judge for themselves in just a few days.
Elden Ring will release on February 25, 2022 for PlayStaton 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
