Every week throughout this season, GoVols247’s Patrick Brown, Ryan Callahan, Grant Ramey and Wes Rucker will make their predictions for the biggest games in college football — focusing on the Southeastern Conference and top-25 teams — and, of course, weigh in on how Tennessee will fare.
If you weren’t able to participate in our annual GoVols247 Pick ‘Em competition, which already is under way, feel free to post your own picks — or point out the flaws in the GoVols247 staff’s predictions — in the comments below this story.
Before we reveal our picks for Week 2, here’s a quick look at last week’s results and the overall standings coming off Week 2:
WEEK 2 RESULTS
Grant Ramey 12-9
Patrick Brown 10-11
Wes Rucker 9-12
Ryan Callahan 8-13
Grant Ramey 26-19
Patrick Brown 22-23
Wes Rucker 19-26
Ryan Callahan 18-27
Without further ado, it’s on with the picks, starting with Tennessee’s home game against Tennessee Tech.
The Vols (1-1) are coming off a 41-34 loss to Pittsburgh last week in their first true test under first-year coach Josh Heupel, while the Golden Eagles (0-2) were shut out last week in a 26-0 loss to Furman.
TENNESSEE TECH (OFF) AT TENNESSEE
Patrick Brown’s prediction
Tennessee can pretty much name its score in this game. Tennessee Tech is an FCS team and apparently a relatively not-good one at that, having opened the season with blowout losses to Samford (52-14) and Furman (26-0).
