GTA 5 Glitch Lets NPC Repeatedly Beat Up Trevor In Cutscene

Comments Off on GTA 5 Glitch Lets NPC Repeatedly Beat Up Trevor In Cutscene

A recent video from a Grand Theft Auto 5 fan shows a glitch where an NPC repeatedly beats up Trevor in an iconic cutscene with Franklin.

A new Grand Theft Auto 5 clip shows Trevor getting repeatedly punched during one of the game’s more iconic cutscenes. Rockstar Games are known to have some pretty hilarious bugs, but this GTA 5 bug is definitely one of the funniest. What makes it even funnier is the fact that the game has been out for eight years and players are still finding ways to break it.

Despite releasing nearly a decade ago, Rockstar’s acclaimed open-world game is still kicking. Later this week, GTA Online‘s newest update starring Franklin and Dr. Dre will release for free. The update will essentially continue the story of GTA 5, as Franklin hasn’t been seen since the conclusion of the main story. The update will see Franklin returning as a fixer for celebrities hanging around San Andreas. That said, some people are still playing through Franklin’s rise to success in the original game’s story.

Reddit user Stephenburnett98 posted a video where an iconic interaction between Franklin and Trevor was interrupted by two NPCs. At the start of the cutscene, Trevor is attacked by a pedestrian but continues talking to Franklin. The NPC continued to repeatedly punch, kick, and push Trevor down until a second NPC came in to watch. Nonetheless, the cutscene carries on as normal, still ending with Trevor assaulting a completely different civilian.

The GTA series has some absurd glitches, but this is definitely one of the more comedic ones. It takes one of the most well-known scenes in the game and introduces an incredibly unexpected element to it. Although Rockstar recently came off of the incredibly buggy launch of the GTA Trilogy, this is a more harmless glitch. The recently released collection largely hurt gamers’ memories of the classic trilogy and soured the experience of first-time players. Things like rain, textures, AI behavior, and much more were hurt by a messy collection of games.

The GTA 5 glitch is a result of the game’s cutscenes not being pre-rendered. The cutscenes basically exist within the playable world, so for whatever reason, an NPC was ticked off by Trevor and sought a fight from him. It’s likely glitches like this will still be present when GTA 5 is re-released in March 2022. Rockstar has been planning a re-release of its acclaimed game for Xbox Series X and PS5 since 2020 but has yet to actually detail any significant differences for it. With only a few months until it’s released, it’s likely the developer will detail the changes it’s making to the game very soon.
