Here’s Why Apple Is Halting The Production Of iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, and SE

Apple is said to be abandoning three of its iPhones, with all upgrades halted. According to a source, Apple is planning to phase out three of its smartphone models following the introduction of iOS 16. Apple is eliminating the original iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, and iPhone 6s Plus, according to iPhoneSoft, a French tech news blog.

This will cause a lot of problems for consumers who use these models since it ignores future security upgrades, leaving owners vulnerable to cybercriminals. People who use these models are putting themselves in danger since their gadgets are readily hacked. Other than that, social networking applications like WhatsApp will no longer be working on certain smartphones.

It’s worth noting that every Apple device that has been discontinued is automatically included in the “Vintage Products” section. Vintage items, and according to tech giants, are ones that the corporation stopped selling more than five years ago but less than 7 years ago. Each year, Apple retires iPhone models that are no longer functional with newer iOS versions.

Apple’s gadgets that are being phased out were introduced in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Apple will also abandon several earlier iPad models, including the iPad mini 4, iPad Air 3, iPad (fifth-generation), and the 2015 iPad pro models, according to the French website. Apple introduces fresh new features and fixes issues in every software update to improve the user’s experience.

The new iOS versions also include security enhancements that guard against device hacking. Only a few weeks ago, the business released a new iOS 15 version, and it is currently preparing to release the iOS 16 update.
