Kill The Justice League’s Heroes & Villains So Far

The new trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League sets the stage for a massive DC universe extravaganza. A number of massive heroes, villains, and other morally grey DC characters have been confirmed for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but there may be even more in the final game. Rocksteady largely only contained its Batman games to the Dark Knight and his rogues’ gallery with nods to other characters, but the developer is really embracing the larger DC universe in the Suicide Squad game.

Not only do characters like Harley Quinn return, but Rocksteady has introduced a number of other villains and heroes that have only been vaguely alluded to in the past. The new Suicide Squad trailer tees up the story for the game and as the title would suggest, the Suicide Squad are recruited to kill the Justice League. Given the Justice League roster changes from time to time, fans have been wondering since the game was revealed which heroes would be part of the iconic superhero group in this game.

The new trailer confirms the various members of the group and even throws in a few other characters that fans may not have been expecting. Some, like Superman, are quite obvious standouts, but there are also some characters fans may have missed or not recognized in the trailer as well. With that said, here are all of the heroes and villains that are confirmed for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League thus far.

Superman Is A Villain In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League: All Heroes & Villains

The Man of Steel is in the game, but he’s no hero this time around. Superman is a villain in Suicide Squad after being corrupted by Brainiac. Specifics are unclear regarding the character’s goal as an evildoer, but he appears to be a primary antagonist in the game. The beloved Kryptonian can be seen wreaking havoc throughout both Suicide Squad game trailers and even coming to blows with other members of the Justice League, showcasing there are still some heroes left.

Harley Quinn Is Playable In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League: All Heroes & Villains

The legendary Harley Quinn will be one of the four playable characters in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. She’s been in every DC-related Rocksteady game thus far but has often been seen at Joker’s shoulder. Following the events of Arkham Knight, it seems Harley has been put back in Arkham Asylum and will attempt to shave time off her sentence in this game. Suicide Squad will see Harley Quinn working with the squad to kill the Justice League, though it’s unclear how she’ll play. She was a playable character in an Arkham Knight DLC, but she played very similarly to Batman.

Deadshot Is Playable In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League: All Heroes & Villains

Following Will Smith’s portrayal of the character in the first Suicide Squad film, Deadshot will appear in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The playable character is an ace marksman and a deadly assassin, making him a worthy addition to the team. Even though he has no superpowers, he has frequently challenged the likes of Batman and made himself out to be a formidable foe in the DC universe.

It’s unclear if Suicide Squad’s Deadshot is a new iteration as the character appeared in Batman: Arkham City, which is part of this game’s canon, but was a completely different race and had a totally different outfit. Given Deadshot was just a side character in Arkham City, it’s possible it’s just a retcon and an easy way to make the character recognizable to casual fans after the Suicide Squad film.

Captain Boomerang Is Playable In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League: All Heroes & Villains

Captain Boomerang is part of The Flash’s extensive rouges’ gallery and although his name sounds a bit goofy, he is a resourceful and cunning villain. Given the extensive threats in this game, it’ll be interesting to see him hold his own against heroes who are actively breaking their codes and not holding back. The Suicide Squad trailer briefly shows Captain Boomerang moving at speeds similar to The Flash, so it certainly seems like he’ll be able to evade danger for the most part. Wonder Woman’s lasso does manage to wrangle him as he’s doing this, so it’s hard to say how he’ll compare as of right now.

King Shark Is Playable In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League: All Heroes & Villains

King Shark is probably the most superpowered out of all of the characters in this version of the Suicide Squad. Not only is he literally a giant shark, but he’s able to get incredible levels of strength, a regenerative healing factor, and more. Fans may recognize him from The Suicide Squad movie where he was voiced by Sylvester Stallone. It’s unclear if Rocksteady will take liberties with King Shark in Suicide Squad or any of the other playable characters to make them more dynamic in gameplay, but they’re all very different and should serve well for co-op play.

Gizmo Is An Ally In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League: All Heroes & Villains

Fans of Teen Titans will recognize Gizmo in the latest trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. It looks like he will be giving the Squad all of their gear in the game, as he’s known to be a genius and master inventor. He may also have access to items that he didn’t invent, as Riddler’s hat and a Batman-looking gadget can be seen in the room he’s in. It’s possible Amanda Waller has given him and the Squad access to confiscated items to allow for a more versatile arsenal.

Wonder Woman Is A Hero In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Despite the fact that Superman is evil in Suicide Squad, it seems like Wonder Woman might not have been corrupted by Brainiac. She can be seen battling Superman at the end of the latest trailer and also impaling one of Brainiac’s henchmen.

Although there are no clear shots of her like there are for all of the other characters, the brief glimpses of her don’t seem to suggest that she has weird creepy eyes or blackened skin like the other heroes do. Whether or not she managed to avoid becoming evil altogether or is cured of this later in the game remains to be seen, but she may be an ally rather than an enemy.

The Flash Is A Villain In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League: All Heroes & Villains

As the title of the game would suggest, the Suicide Squad is killing the Justice League and not just Superman. As a result, it appears The Flash will be one of the villains in the game. The tables have turned and now Captain Boomerang must stop The Flash. Whether or not Rocksteady is actually going to make players kill these iconic heroes remains to be seen, but it would be a pretty bold move. Either way, it will be a bit of a challenge to kill a guy who moves faster than the speed of light.

Green Lantern Is A Villain In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League: All Heroes & Villains

The John Stewart version of Green Lantern will also appear in the game as another evil superhero. It’s unclear if there will be other Justice League members to kill, but if there are, Rocksteady may be hiding them for the time being. This teases at least three potential bosses for the game, all of which should be incredibly diverse. Two of them can fly, one can create any weapon he wants with his ring, one is known as being borderline unkillable, and so on. It’s certainly quite the matchup and should provide some really fun, compelling set pieces in the Suicide Squad game.

Brainiac Is A Villain In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League Trailer Breakdown

Although he’s not actually seen in any of the trailers, there’s no shortage of imagery related to Brainiac in the game. Brainiac is the main villain of the Suicide Squad game as he’s pulling the strings and controlling the Justice League while also attempting to conquer the city of Metropolis. It stands to reason he will show up in the game, but it’s possible the Suicide Squad won’t put an end to him.

Rocksteady may be laying some of the groundwork for a proper Justice League game, making this a two-parter of sorts. Nothing has been confirmed, but he would make for a much more fitting villain for the Justice League itself.

Poison Ivy May Appear In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League: All Heroes & Villains

This one is a bit more ambiguous, but Poison Ivy may be in the Suicide Squad game as well. A bunch of vines pops out of the ground in the latest trailer before ultimately wrapping themselves around the Squad. Ivy was a recurring character in the Arkham series and can sometimes be seen dating Harley Quinn in the comics. Although she’s not explicitly seen here, there aren’t many other notable DC characters that control vines.

The Penguin Is In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Trailer Breakdown

The Suicide Squad will be going up against some of the fiercest characters in the DC universe, but there is one other villain in the game that doesn’t seem to be much of an issue for the group. Since Suicide Squad and the Batman games are connected, the Arkham version of The Penguin will make a cameo in this game. It’s unclear why he’s in Metropolis, but it’s possible he was part of another failed task force assigned to stop the Justice League. Amanda Waller is able to remotely shock him, implying he has one of the devices in his head that can kill the Suicide Squad. Only time will tell, but it does seem like the character is trying to evade the Squad rather than help them.
