James Blanchard, Director of Player Personnel
According to a press release from Texas Tech: “Blanchard will oversee the entire recruiting operation for the Red Raiders as Director of Player Personnel. Blanchard arrived alongside McGuire upon his hiring as the 17th head coach in program history following two different stints at Baylor.”
Cody Bellaire, Director of Scouting
“Bellaire will oversee the initial evaluation process to identify potential student-athletes at Tech, an area he has an extensive background in after previous stops at LSU, Texas A&M and Baylor. He was most recently the assistant director of player personnel since this past March at LSU, his alma mater.”
Dave Martin, Director of Player Development
“Martin will oversee many of the Red Raiders’ initiatives in the Lubbock community. Martin, a former assistant coach under McGuire at Cedar Hill High School, will also be the football liaison for the academic advising staff located at the Marsha Sharp Center for Student-Athletes.”
Quintin Jordan, Director of Football Operations
“Jordan returns to his alma mater as Director of Football Operations after previously serving in various roles over a four-year span at Baylor. He began his tenure with the Bears as the associate director of student-athlete development in July 2018 being joining the football staff as Director of Football Administration nearly a year later prior to the 2019 season.”
Antonio Huffman, Associate Athletics Director for Football Administration
“Former Red Raider defensive back Antonio Huffman enters his third season on the Texas Tech football staff and his first in the role of Associate Athletics Director for football administration. Huffman previously served as Chief of Staff under head coach Matt Wells before earning his current promotion in April 2021.
“As part of his new expanded role, Huffman will continue to oversee operations for the football program, all while adding administrative duties within the athletics department. He will also be the football program’s liaison to administration regarding any upcoming legislation pertaining to name-image-likeness (NIL), an important role not only for the football program but across college athletics.”
Sammy Morris, Associate Director for Player Development
“Morris serves as Texas Tech’s NFL liaison to scouts and team personnel, while also working as an advisor for freshman and transfer student-athletes entering the program. His most important role, however, will be as a life coach and advisor for more than 100 student-athletes in the football program based on his own experiences as a collegiate athlete and NFL standout.”
Kate Shealy, Director of Recruiting Operations
“Kate Shealy just completed her first regular season on the Texas Tech staff as she was named Director of Recruiting Operations prior to the 2021 season. Shealy, a Houston native, arrived in Lubbock following two-plus years at East Carolina where she was responsible for many of the behind-the-scenes aspects of the Pirates’ recruiting operation. She assisted with budget management and recruiting-related travel support while at East Carolina, many of the same duties she will have now with the Red Raiders.
“In addition to her recruiting duties, Shealy also assisted with the operation needs for the football program while at East Carolina, which included the coordination of home and road game logistics such as meals and facility preparation.”
