Some of the concern for SMU offensively after the 35-12 win over the Mean Green lies with the offensive line. Head coach Sonny Dykes said on Tuesday that the group is battling some issues and is confident they’ll get on track.
“Look, we’re doing some good things too, we really are,” Dykes said this week. “We’re battling some consistency is our biggest issue. I think we’re playing hard and I think some guys are playing well. We just need to do it all together as a group and when we do that, we’ll be fine. Look, these guys are good players. They’ve played a lot of football.
“I’m not concerned to play… it goes back to the same thing, we have a high standard for those guys. I want them to play at a very, very high level. I think when they’re capable of doing that, I think we all feel the same way. We want them to play the best they can and I don’t think we’ve done that yet.”
