With restrictions being lifted across the world thanks to digital solutions that helped tackle a pandemic, events that highlight technology are gaining interest of a generation stepping into the new normal. Dubai has made the Middle East a preferred destination for geeks and innovators, keen on witnessing as well as showcasing the top future ready devices being developed globally.
The climate which is welcoming towards digital services, has also encouraged young minds to explore online knowhow and come up with their own gadgets for a smarter tomorrow. Keeping up with its Arab neighbours, Turkey has also been in the news for its prowess in making drones and smart tools, which will be on display at Teknofest event, that’s being organised in the country for the fourth time.
Students from the Middle Eastern country will be displaying their skills to build autonomous aerial devices, while diving deeper into the world of robotics to create smart undersea mechanisms. The event will include competitions, like the one where teams of youngsters will design, assemble and launch rockets, to showcase defence tech capabilities that Turkey is known for.
Another contest will pitch UAVs against each other in two categories, namely rotary and fixed-wing, as the drones will engage in aerial duels to lock onto each other. The ability of students to virtually pull of aggressive maneuvers, and to defend their device, will be tested through this exercise.
Marking the era of autonomous public transport in countries like UAE and Turkey, robo-cabs will zoom in for a showdown at Teknofest, while students can also race to create model satellites. The space-tech contest will provide a window for young innovators to catch a glimpse of the designing process, before the run up to the launch of a cosmic voyage.
From the skies, the teams will travel underwater with robots that can control the functioning of submarines, as they simultaneously perform various tasks using AI. In a few years the event has garnered a lot of popularity, and countries like Azerbaijan as well as Ukraine are now in the fray to host it.
