One Pokémon Legends: Arceus player has discovered a hidden room in the Hisui region featuring a special edition Pikachu Nintendo Switch.
One Pokémon Legends: Arceus player has found a hidden modern-day room located within the traditional and ancient region of Hisui. While this is not the first time Nintendo has included their own devices in their own games, it is very peculiar due to Hisui being an ancient land that the main character inadvertently travels back to.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus has now largely been considered the Pokémon game that has set itself apart from past games in the franchise. While most Pokémon games feature the main character going on a quest through different regions set fairly close to home, Pokémon Legends: Arceus‘s plot sets itself apart due to the main character falling back in time caused by the mythical Pokémon, Arceus, to Hisui. What is also special about this game is its inclusion of many fan-favorite Pokémon from different eras such as Piplup, Cyndaquil, Shinx, as well as lesser fan-favorites such as Paras. The lush setting of Hisui depicts lush and traditional Japanese-inspired gardens where all these Pokémon may be found and in an exciting development, caught in real-time.
In a posted video, DeepGameRes’s avatar can be found walking around a more present-day room that is set apart from the historic Japanese setting found throughout the rest of the game. In this brightly colored room, contemporary items such as a beanbag and a desk chair can be found as well as electronic devices such as a laptop, a TV, and a Nintendo Switch can be found. The Nintendo Switch is particularly eye-catching not only due to the fun meta-reference to what the game itself is played on but also because of the bright yellow Joy-Cons and Pikachu decals pasted on the front of the Switch’s dock. While Pokémon Legends: Arceus may be set in the past, this room almost feels like a small ode to how this new installment reaches new fans as well as older fans who have been there since the franchisement’s start.
Although the player may not interact with these items, the video shows how the avatar can clip through the objects and the room itself. It is through this clipping alone that players may be able to find this secret room which has led fans to believe that this area was scrapped from the final cut of the game once the creative directors decided to move in a different direction. This is not the only hidden area found in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Recently another player has found a hidden balcony that allows players to catch an Unown in a more uncomplicated manner.
With fans becoming hopeful of future DLC’s, it could be considered likely that Nintendo may add a few more intentional small Easter eggs to this game. Undoubtedly, players will continue to find small nuggets like this balcony and the Nintendo Switch in-game within the rich world of Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
