Cyberpunk 2077 Fan Accidentally Makes Hugh Jackman In Character Creator

A Cyberpunk 2077 player inadvertently made their playable character look like Hugh Jackman, leaving many to wonder how Logan would fair in Night City.

One Cyberpunk 2077 player may have accidentally crafted a Night City version of Hugh Jackman while coming up with the perfect look for their playable V using the game’s character creator. Jackman has taken on many roles throughout his long and memorable career, but sci-fi and comic book fans will know him most for his lengthy run as Wolverine in the Fox-produced X-Men films. He even voiced Logan in 2009’s X-Men Origins Wolverine tie-in video game, which many players felt was superior to the ill-fated movie it was based on due to truly embracing the darker and more violent aspects of the famously hot-blooded Canadian mutant – something that Insomniac is looking to recapture in the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine.

Meanwhile, CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 puts players in the role of V, an aspiring Netrunner looking to make a name for themselves on the gritty streets of Night City. Players can customize virtually every aspect of V, such as their appearance, their cybernetic enhancements, and even their backstory – though this last feature isn’t quite as impactful to Cyberpunk 2077’s overall narrative as CDPR promised in the run-up to the game’s controversial launch back in 2020. Hence, some Cyberpunk 2077 fans have set out to model their playable avatar after characters from other popular games, such as Aloy from the recently released Horizon Forbidden West and even Ciri from The Witcher 3 in Cyberpunk 2077.

Reddit user Torrdin recently posted an image of their custom-made male V to the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit (via GameRant), one that they quickly realized bears an uncanny resemblance to Hugh Jackman. While Torrdin claims that their character looking like the big-name Australian actor wasn’t intentional, many of the 1.2 thousand users who upvoted their post on r/cyberpunkgame have pointed out that V’s stubble indeed matches the facial hair Jackman famously sports in real life. Others have colorfully argued that Torrdin’s character looks more like a combination of different people, with user everythingbeeps joking that he resembles “Hugh Jackman, as played by Andrew Garfield channeling Joel McHale.

To say that Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t have the best start when it launched in the winter of 2020 would be an understatement, as the much-hyped RPG was shipped with a multitude of game-breaking bugs and glitches – not to mention many of the features that CDPR promoted for Cyberpunk 2077 were ultimately missing from the finished product. In the months since that trying time, CDPR has been slowly attempting to win back wary gamers by addressing Cyberpunk 2077’s many technical issues through downloadable update patches, eventually culminating in the often-delayed PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Cyberpunk 2077 releasing earlier this year. Even before that, Cyberpunk 2077 gained a wave of positive reviews on Steam during last year’s Steam Autumn Sale, to the point that quest designer Pawel Sasko posted a heartfelt message thanking fans for their support.

In the meantime, though Torridin’s custom version of V might not be an exact match for Hugh Jackman, it does bear a strong resemblance to the former X-Men star in its eyes, stubble, and overall facial structure. While V can’t gain a mutant healing factor or indestructible Adamantium claws through Cyberpunk 2077‘s character creator, Torridin could use the Mantis Blades with their Hugh Jackman avatar to slice and dice the criminals of Night City and hold them over until Marvel’s Wolverine comes out.
