Kojima Productions and 505 Games confirmed this week that Death Stranding Director’s Cut is heading to PC later this year.
The standard version of the game launched on PC back in July 2020, but PS5 owners got a Director’s Cut version last year. The enhanced version included adjustments to guides and hints, new weapons, new equipment, new facilities and missions, support skeletons, and Half-Life and Cyberpunk 2077 specific content.
Now PC gamers can enjoy the same additions on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. On the Steam store page for the new version of the game, the description confirms there will be support for high frame rates, a photo mode, and ultrawide monitors. In addition, we’re promised the following content:

The news release confirms that the game will, “for the first time, incorporate Intel’s new Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) graphics technology for an enhanced experience for PC players. XeSS uses machine learning to enable players to explore the unique environment of Death Stranding Director’s Cut in high graphical detail along with elevated performance.”
Two pieces of vital information have yet to be confirmed. The first is a specific release date beyond just “Spring 2022,” and the second is how much the upgrade will be for gamers who already own the standard version on PC. The upgrade from the standard edition on PS4 to the Director’s Cut on PS5 was $10, so hopefully it’s the same deal on PC.
