Fortnite Chapter 3 Has Tilted Towers Return & Less Snow, Per Leak

A leaker claims that the snow covering Fortnite Chapter 3’s map will slowly disappear over time and reveal the fan-favorite location, Tilted Towers.

Following the release of Fortnite‘s newest chapter, a leaker has claimed that the snow covering Chapter 3’s flipped map will slowly disappear and reveal the return of the fan-favorite Tilted Towers location. Fortnite‘s Chapter 3 recently launched with new additions and innovative mechanics that change how the free-to-play battle royale is played. Players can now land into Fortnite‘s manifold map with a collection of new content including characters, cosmetics, and new game mechanics such as sliding, a new first-person ADS weapon addition, and a swinging ability to make the experience more fluid and enjoyable than ever before.

Considered among the battle royale’s best Point of Interest and landing spots, Epic introduced Tilted Towers to Fortnite players in 2018 within its first chapter. Tilted Towers went on to be one of the longest-running POIs in Fortnite before the ultimate map change at the start of Chapter 2. Before disappearing after being destroyed in Chapter 1 Season 8 by a volcano, it was known as the title’s most occupied location due to hosting some of the best loot available on the map, and for its buildings that allowed easy shelter. Though gone from the title for more than two years, Epic Games has been hinting at the return of Fortnite‘s Tilted Towers for some time.

The Fortnite-dedicated content creator and well-known news account on Twitter, HYPEX, has teased the future of Chapter 3’s map with claims from an insider. While Fortnite Chapter 3’s snow-covered map was recently introduced with the map flip following Chapter 2’s finale, it looks like the festive snow might be completely disappearing mid-season 1, and revealing numerous locations including Tilted Towers. Leaked with an image on Twitter, HYPEX claims that the snow will begin melting on January 7 and will have six different melting stages before completely disappearing and revealing the return of Tilted Towers. While the claims are unconfirmed, the user states that all of the snow is meant to disappear unless Epic Games decides to change the next update.

The reportedly melting snow is one of a few new changes and features expected to be coming to Fortnite Chapter 3’s brand-new map. Epic Games showed off new weather and environmental effects during the overview trailer of Chapter 3, with the addition of lightning and tornadoes that can pull players into them. It’s unknown when these new features will be implemented, but the recent announcement of Fortnite‘s development completely shifting to Unreal Engine 5 could hint that they may be making their way to the game sooner than expected.

The popular battle royale’s newest season is off to a bright start and the return of one of its most popular locations could make the title’s newest season one of the most played in its history. If the leak is true then Fortnite Chapter 3’s snow is expected to melt in the coming weeks, so players can likely expect an official announcement from Epic regarding the numerous changes being made to its brand-new map soon.
