Garth Brooks Talks to News 12 About Upcoming Nashville Concert

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WDEF) — If you’re a Garth Brooks fan, get ready!

Tickets for his Nissan Stadium show in Nashville go on sale Friday.

More than 70,000 fans were at last year’s concert, which had to be canceled last minute because of bad weather.

Garth’s upcoming show in the Music City is on Saturday, April 16 at 7 p.m.

It’s his only Stadium Tour date in Tennessee and Kentucky.

Garth tells News 12 he’s thrilled to bring the show back to Nashville.

We asked him if he’ll have an opening act.

He says it’ll be the “opening act of all opening acts.” But he wants who it is to be a surprise.

Garth says to expect him to perform all of the older, classic hits his fans love, along with some of his newer music.

“It’s like, you look out there, and you see people that are next to each other that didn’t buy a ticket, right? They bought tickets and just ended up sitting next to a group. Well, the groups look nothing alike. They probably don’t have any of the same beliefs, but yet here they are, arm in arm, with strangers they don’t even know, singing ‘The River,’ or singing ‘Friends in Low Places.’ That’s a beautiful thing to watch from the stage,” Brooks said.

They cost about $95, all inclusive.

Brooks’ Stadium Tour did a show at Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium in November of 2019. It broke both the state and stadium’s record for a single concert event, with more than 84,000 fans in attendance.

Brooks’ team members tell News 12 the country star performed at Chattanooga’s Memorial Auditorium in March of 1991. They say it was his first show as a headline act on the eastern side of the Mississippi River.
