Geekbench Reveals Details Of Upcoming Samsung Galaxy A53 5G

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G has been spotted on Geekbench with the listing revealing some of the key specs for the device, including the chipset.

Samsung Galaxy A-series smartphone has appeared on Geekbench, with the listing suggesting it is the currently unannounced SM-A536U. While the SM at the beginning of the model number stands for Samsung, the letters followed by the hyphen indicate the A53 5G model number. In addition to the model, the listing also happens to reveal some other crucial details about the smartphone.

Whenever a smartphone gets listed on Geekbench, key aspects such as performance scores, chipset, Android version, and its model number are typically revealed. These listings also tend to provide more indepth information on the chip, such as the the number and breakdown of cores, and even the memory. All of which can often paint a good picture of what to expect with an upcoming phone.

A recent Geekbench listing suggests that the Galaxy A53 5G smartphone will be powered by the Exynos 1200. The motherboard mentioned in the listing is the ‘s5e8825’ and this is the codename currently associated with Samsung’s Exynos 1200 chipset. It is a relatively new processor, which itself first appeared on Geekbench in September 2021. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G scores 690 on single-core testing and 1,846 on multi-core. Although these scores are better than Samsung’s Galaxy A52 4G with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset, they are not quite as good as the Galaxy A52s 5G with its powerful Snapdragon 778G chipset.

In addition to the benchmark scores, the Geekbench listing also reveals a few details about the Exynos 1200 SoC. It is an octa-core processor with two high-performance cores clocked at 2.40 GHz and six basic cores clocked at 2.00 GHz. As far as the GPU is concerned, the Exynos 1200 SoC comes with a Mali-G68 GPU, which is a mid-tier mobile graphics processor that falls short of Snapdragon’s 700 series. The model that appeared in the benchmarking test also featured 6GB of RAM and was running on Android 12.

Other than the Geekbench listing, renders of the Galaxy A53 5G have also leaked online recently, revealing details about the design of the smartphone. As pointed out by GSMArena, the device will apparently carry a similar look and feel to the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G. It is also understood to feature a 120Hz AMOLED display, along with a 64-megapixel primary camera. If recent reports are to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G will launch sometime around March of next year.
