How to Beat Tiamat – Flying Fortress Boss Guide and Tips
Sit back, as this one will be difficult. Tiamat is one of four fiends and has the powers of wind on her side. She causes a lot of damage, has a lot of long-range attacks, and she will fight aggressively.
We recommend going in with the class with the highest physical attacks points or highest defense points. It would also be beneficial to have a class with you that can cast healing magic like Cure.
Her weakness is at her multiple necks, so aim at her many heads when you can. You will also land critical hits on her if you strike from behind, but she will strike back with her tail if you stay too long. Every opportunity you have to strike at her neck, take it. Use an Ability Combo to deplete her Break Gauge fast too.
You will only be able to hit her a few times before you have to dodge away from her. Her reaction times are too fast. Her long necks also have incredible reach, being able to strike you from meters away. Block those kinds of attacks. If you don’t have the Break Gauge to block, try dodging.
Tiamat will have a move called Breath where she’ll spew out beams of energy in front of her. That’s actually the best time for you to get close to her and attack, as Breath can’t hit you up close.
Here Aero-based attacks are good moves to absorb with the Soul Shield. There will be an attack where she’s summons wind magic to surround herself and counterattack, so avoid attacking her when that happens. That move is different from Whirlwind, which is a move where she summons mini-tornadoes. She will also fly in the air to shoot status-affecting attacks like poison, which will deplete your health if you get hit.
When you take away half of her health and Soul Burst her, she will… disintegrate. It’s a fake-out, and she reforms again. Now the boss is even harder. Not only will she use more aggressive and devasting attacks she will also regenerate her health.

After taking away a lot of her health, she’ll end up regenerating it back halfway. Your only hope to defeat her is to completely deplete her Break Gauge and Soul Burst her.
To lower Tiamat’s Break Gauge, hit her with Life Bringer to make sure she doesn’t recover too much of her Break Gauge. If you can hit her multiple times in a row with strong Combo Abilities, her Break Gauge will go down fast.
The problem is that Tiamat has so many powerful attacks, and she will not stop. She will have news moves too. For example, she will shoot a beam of energy out of her mouth that can instantly down you. This move you should avoid at all costs.
Avoid all of Tiamat’s stronger moves, but it’s probably best that you tank through most of Tiamat’s other attacks and just keep wailing at her with your strongest Combos. When your health runs low, dodge away and heal yourself. But still be careful, as she will continue trying to hit you with long-range attacks. When you need to heal, either use just a potion or don’t charge your healing spell all the way to Curaga. Charging for Cure and Cura takes less time to charge and leaves you less vulnerable.
