We’re a week away from the return of the GeekWire Gala, a holiday tradition for the Seattle tech community.

If you haven’t grabbed a ticket yet for the Dec. 7 party at Block 41 in Seattle, do that now! And then keep reading for five of our top reasons why that ticket purchase is a good idea.

  • Make the Gala your company’s holiday party: We’ve got a great venue. We’ll take care of the tasty food and festive drinks. We’ll string the lights and turn up the music. All you have to do is show up.
  • Meet your next colleague: The Gala is a great place to network and do a bit of recruiting. Chat up a future engineer for your company … or an executive … or investor.
  • Show off your dance moves: Nothing’s better than cutting a rug with that one guy from accounting or the new software developer who promised she’s the best dancer at the company.
  • Take in even more party fun: We’ll have karaoke, a DJ, cotton candy art, a s’mores bar, a caricaturist, a palm reader and more. It’s the holidays — have a blast!
  • Get dressed up for a change: The Gala is a stylish cocktail affair — with a Seattle twist. You might see a shimmering gown, tuxedo, ugly holiday sweater or teams of people in holiday pajamas. And if you need help, you should be applying for the “Geek Style Reboot,” in which two lucky geeks will win an all-expense paid makeover courtesy of Nordstrom before attending the party. Details here on how to apply.

The Gala is a 21+ event. A huge thanks to First Tech Federal Credit Union, the title sponsor of this year’s Gala!
