‘Monster Hunter Rise’ PC release date, gameplay: Capcom confirms all Nintendo Switch content and updates will be available at launch

More console-only games are getting their PC ports recently, and “Monster Hunter Rise” will follow the same fate in a little over a month. Capcom has also given PC gamers more reasons to look forward to the title’s port after confirming that they do not have to wait to receive all the post-launch content and updates released on Nintendo Switch.

The release of more console games on PC is generally good news. But one of the common concerns PC gamers have is whether or not they are getting the same amount of content console users already have. Luckily, that will be the case for “Monster Hunter Rise.”

Capcom published a new blog post on Thursday about the “Monster Hunter Rise” PC port. The studio confirmed that all content released on Switch up to the game’s version 3.6.1 would be immediately available on PC on day one. “We are also planning to synch the content with the Nintendo Switch version at the end of February 2022,” the developer added.

That means PC gamers can expect to immediately dive into the past collaborations with other franchises and other Capcom IPs. “Monster Hunter Rise” had previous events that featured “Street Fighter,” “Sonic the Hedgehog,” “Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection,” “Monster Hunter Stories 2,” and “Okami.”

Monsters that were added to “Monster Hunter Rise” post-launch are also confirmed to be available on the PC port on release day. Some of the fierce creatures include Chameleos, Kushala Daora, Apex Diablos, Teostra, Apex Rathalos, Apex Zinogre, and Crimson Glow Valstrax.

PC gamers will also have instant access to the new “Monster Hunter Rise” ending that featured the first encounter between Ibushi and Narwa.

This should be a welcome announcement for PC fans waiting to play “Monster Hunter Rise.” It means they do not have to waste time playing catch-up with Switch users who have been playing the game since March 26, 2021.

However, synchronizing updates and content does not mean Capcom plans to let players from these two platforms play together. “Please note that the game does not support cross-platform play or cross-saves with the Nintendo Switch version,” Capcom added. “Monster Hunter Rise” will be released on Jan. 12, 2022 on Windows PC.
