Port Clinton City Schools accepting Hall of Fame nomination

PORT CLINTON — Port Clinton City School District is accepting nominations for induction into the Alumni and Athletic Hall of Fame. The deadline for 2022 Alumni Hall of Fame nominations is Jan. 31. Nomination forms are available at the high school office, or www.pccsd.net in the news section. Previous inductees are listed under Port Clinton High School, Academics, Alumni Hall of Fame.

Some of the Alumni Hall of Fame criteria includes:

Must have been a student in the Port Clinton City School System for six years — two of which must have been at the high school level, or have attended Port Clinton High School all four years, unless early graduation occasioned by academic excellence;

Candidate must be at least (30) years of age;

Candidate must have achieved local, state or nationally recognition in his/her field of endeavor, made significant contribution to his/her fellow man or performed meritorious service to our country;

Candidate must be of excellent character. Alumni Hall of Fame applications must be received by Jan. 31, 2022 and mailed to Port Clinton City School District, Attn: PC Hall of Fame Historian, 811 S. Jefferson Street, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452.

Nomination forms for the Port Clinton High School Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2022 are also being accepted.

The Port Clinton High School Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes those individuals who were outstanding to the athletic program at Port Clinton High School. These Members have demonstrated good citizenship and have distinguished themselves as successful adults in their respective careers. Recognition is achieved in one or more of the following categories: Athlete; Coach; Community Member; School Official.

Nomination forms are available online at www.pccsd.net under the News section or the PCHS main office. Supporting materials should be sent to Rick Dominick, PCHS Athletic Director, 821 S. Jefferson S., Port Clinton, 43452. The deadline for nominations for the PCHS Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2018 is March 1.

ELMS meal planned for Jan. 20

PORT CLINTON — An ELMS Meal will be held at 5 p.m. Jan. 20 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Port Clinton. This is a celebration of the New Year featuring roast pork, kraut and potatoes plus lots of desserts. The meal is sponsored monthly by St. Thomas and Peace Lutheran churches; the meal will once again be carry outs only.

North Central board to meet Jan. 18

MARION — The North Central Ohio Educational Service Center Board of Governors will hold its organizational and regular meetings at 7 p.m. Jan. 18. The center serves seven counties including Sandusky County. A records commission committee meeting will be held at 6:45 p.m. It will be held at the NCOESC Marion Campus, 2227 Marion-Mt. Gilead Road, Marion.
