Samsung has submitted a new trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for a cell app termed “Self Maintenance Aid.” Initial noticed by SamMobile, the app’s icon in the software reveals a cogwheel and a wrench with a blue history. Its description reads as follows:
Personal computer application software package for mobile telephones for self-set up and self-upkeep of smartwatches, tablets, mobile phones, and earbuds.
From the text over, it appears to be like Samsung may grow its self-maintenance program to include things like Galaxy watches and earbuds in the long term. The present application Samsung features is restricted to Galaxy Phones and tablets, including the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy S21 lineup, and the Galaxy Tab S7 In addition.
Besides the probability of Samsung together with more products in its Do it yourself restore application, a standalone app from the company also hints at the close of its partnership with iFixit. The latter presently gives fix guides for Samsung equipment and also sells legitimate repair service pieces to Samsung’s consumers. In other words, you may not have to rely on iFixit for self-restoring your Samsung products.
Of class, all of this is conjecture at the instant. Firms file trademark apps all the time. Only some of them at any time make it out as genuine products. We’ll have to wait and see what Samsung intends to do with this app and if the business decides to increase smartwatches and earbuds to its self-maintenance software.
