TU uses renovated armory for StarTUp Accelerator program

The old Towson armory has a new use.Towson University cut the ribbon Monday on the brand new StarTUp Accelerator, taking over the armory space.The accelerator is an eight-week fellowship program that’s part of the university’s entrepreneurial academic program.The armory can hold eight budding businesses can take residency allowing students to connect with the county’s business community.“This is a place of innovation and Towson is a place that innovates and we want to connect the university to Towson itself,” said Kim Schatzel, president of Towson University.The eight current startup fellows will hold a showcase on Oct. 8.
