Xiaomi had launched the 4G variant of the Mi 11 Lite earlier this year and the smartphone was received very well in the country. Now, the company may soon introduce the 5G variant of the phone in the country as well. To recall, Xiaomi had launched the Mi 11 Lite in both 4G and 5G variants globally but, had only launched the 4G model in India. At the time of the launch, it had said that a 5G variant can be launched later if there is enough demand.

According to a new report by 91Mobiles, the company is planning to launch the 5G variant of Mi 11 Lite in September itself. There is no exact date for the launch but, the phone might be unveiled within next three weeks. India Today Tech has also reached out to Xiaomi to independently verify the development and will update the story basis their response.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE was also recently spotted on the IMEI database, which suggested the phone will be unveiled in more markets as well. There have been reports in the past suggesting that the phone can come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset. This is the same processor which Realme has recently used on the Realme GT Master Edition.

The 5G variant of Mi 11 Lite looks identical to the 4G variant which was launched in India. It would be safe to assume that most of its specifications will be similar to the global variant launched earlier this year.

The smartphone features a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels resolution, punch-hole cutout at the top-left corner, 90Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. It is likely feature a triple-camera setup including a 64-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5-megapixel tele-macro sensor. There is also a 16-megapixel selfie shooter on the front.

The phone is expected to pack a 4,250mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support and may feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.
