  • The body of 33-year-old tech entrepreneur Fahim Saleh was found Tuesday in his Manhattan home.

  • His head and limbs had been removed, the New York Police Department told Business Insider, and an electric saw was found near his body. An NYPD spokesperson earlier this week said it “looks like a professional job.”

  • The New York Times reported Friday that Saleh’s assistant, 21-year-old Tyrese Devon Haspil, was arrested and expected to be charged with second-degree murder and other crimes.

Early on Friday 21-year-old Tyrese Devon Haspil was arrested as a suspect in the killing of 33-year-old tech entrepreneur Fahim Saleh, The New York Times reported.

Saleh’s body was found in his $2.5 million Manhattan condo on Tuesday in what police described as a horrific scene.

His head and limbs had been removed, a New York Police Department spokesperson told Business Insider, and an electric saw, still plugged into the wall, was found near the body.

In video-surveillance footage, a masked man wearing a suit was seen entering the elevator with Saleh in Saleh’s building the day before his body was discovered.

“It shows the victim getting into the elevator Monday, followed quickly by a second man, dressed in a suit, wearing gloves, a hat and a mask over his face,” the New York Daily News reported.

Early on Friday morning, Saleh’s former personal assistant Tyrese Devon Haspil was taken into NYPD custody as a suspect in the murder, the New York Times reported.

The motive, according to the New York Times report, was financial. Saleh discovered that Haspil had “stolen tens of thousands of dollars from him.” While the two were said to have worked out a repayment plan, that is still being viewed as the primary motivation.

Detectives speaking to The Times detailed how they suspect the murder took place:

  • The killer, wearing a three-piece suit and a mask, entered the building’s elevator with Saleh on Monday.

  • Using a Taser, the killer immobilized Saleh as he exited the elevator directly into his apartment.

  • The killer then followed Saleh out of the elevator and stabbed him several times.

  • The next day, the killer returned to Saleh’s condo to dismember the body and clean up.

  • While doing so, Saleh’s sister arrived at the building and buzzed his apartment, which caused the killer to flea the scene out of a different exit.

Representatives for the New York Police Department declined to comment on the Times report.
