Elden Ring Minimum & Recommended PC Specs Revealed

FromSoftware has officially revealed the recommended and minimum hardware specifications for the PC version of the upcoming Elden Ring.

FromSoftware has revealed the minimum and recommended hardware specifications for the PC version of Elden Ring, giving fans an idea of what kind of computer they’ll need to run the game. Elden Ring is coming to consoles (except for Nintendo Switch) as well as PC, which means the game has to at least be able to run on PS4 and Xbox One to an acceptable degree.

The Soulsborne series once had a rocky reputation on PC. The first PC version of Dark Souls was notoriously awful and it practically required fan patches in order to run properly. Luckily, this mistake was rectified with later entries in the series, and the remaining Dark Souls games and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice all run fine on PC. As such, fans have high hopes for the PC version of Elden Ring, even though it has a much bigger scope than the other Soulsborne games. Elden Ring has a massive open world that requires a mount to explore with speed, so it’s going to be far more demanding on hardware than older FromSoftware games.

Elden Ring is due to be released on February 25 and FromSoftware has let PC players know the specs for the game. The official Elden Ring Twitter page has a new post that reveals the minimum and recommended PC specs for Elden Ring. A Windows 10 OS, 12GB of RAM memory, and 60GB of storage space are required across the board.

Elden Ring PC Specs

The Elden Ring specs are surprisingly high, considering that the game is coming to the previous-gen consoles. The Elden Ring network test was available on previous-gen consoles, so thankfully most fans aren’t concerned about any Cyberpunk 2077-style issues with the old platforms at launch, especially when comparing the scope of both games. The tech comparisons for Elden Ring on PS4 and Xbox One have revealed a stable 30fps performance for the game, which is perfectly acceptable for a FromSoftware title. It seems that people on budget PCs won’t have as much luck with Elden Ring, which is especially frustrating for a game that won’t be available on any streaming services at launch.

It usually doesn’t take PC players long to create mods that bypass the existing graphical options in a game so that they can run on lower-end systems. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has great mods that serve this purpose. PC players should be able to squeeze more performance out of Elden Ring with a bit of extra work, as it seems FromSoftware wants an experience closer to the PS5 and Xbox Series X for the PC version of Elden Ring.
