Kids love video games, but how great would it be to give them something that motivates them to get outside and explore? WowWee’s Got2Glow Fairy Finder is made to do just that. It’s a smart hybrid of tech and IRL play, and it’s slated to be a hot gift this holiday season (it’s already on the “50 most-wished-for kids’ gifts” list at Target). Right now it’s on sale at Amazon, reduced from $40 to $35, and you can get free shipping with Amazon Prime — if you haven’t signed up yet, click here for a free trial.
If you have a kid in your life, we suggest picking up WowWee’s Got2Glow now while you still can — come December these toys will be even harder to find than real fairies!

What, exactly, is this Fairy Finder? It’s a sturdy plastic jar with a small screen in one side. When a child opens the lid of the jar, a “fairy” flies into the jar and appears on the display. What kind of fairy depends on how and where the child is holding the toy; for example, shaking or holding the jar upside down might bring an upside-down fairy!
The Got2Glow Fairy Finder inspires exploration and interaction. There are 100 different types to search for and kids can share and trade fairies between jars too. So if they have a friend or a sibling with a Got2Glow Fairy Finder, that’s a whole other level of fun.
If you purchase more than one Got2Glow, say, for a pair of siblings, make sure you get both the blue and the pink. Each jar has different fairies available to catch. With both colors, they’ll have a great time trading back and forth.
Walmart even has a glow-in-the-dark exclusive version of the Got2Glow that’s also on sale right now.
The Fairy Finder has garnered some excellent reviews on Amazon. One parent says their daughter “absolutely loves it and never puts it away.” Another shopper says “I love the Got 2 Glow Fairy Finder! It is like a Pokémon Go and Tamagotchi in one, except you’re catching fairies not Pokémon.” This reviewer goes on to say their partner “even enjoyed catching fairies, and he’s a 26 year old man.”
The Got2Glow seems to be especially popular with kids five to seven. This parent says their five-year-old son loves it — and describes some of the additional features of the toy: “…You can use an app to learn more about each fairy. You don’t need it to play with the Finder, but it adds a nice dimension…. [My son] is up to seven fairies … I am very happy with this purchase, and would recommend this toy for any boy or girl.”
With reported delays in the supply chain, we’d all do best to snatch up hard-to-get holiday gifts early. If there are little ones on your list, the Got2Glow will thrill them.
