Lenovo has launched a range of new products during its Tech World 2021 event. The new lineup of Lenovo devices includes laptops, tablets, Chromebook and other products like gaming monitors and wireless earbuds.
The highlight among these is the world’s lightest 14-inch OLED laptop dubbed as the Yoga Slim 7 Carbon. The company says that the device’s chassis has been crafted from aerospace-grade magnesium alloy reinforced with multi-layer carbon fiber. With this, the new Lenovo laptop comes with minimal weight and “military-grade resistance and durability.”
The effort is reflected in yet another laptop in the series called the Yoga Slim 7 Pro. Other than these two offerings, one Chromebook and two tablets have also been launched. A total of three monitors have also marked their debut, along with a pair of Bluetooth earbuds during the Tech World 2021.
Here is a look at all these products in detail.
Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon
Starting with the showstopper, Yoga Slim 7 Carbon is a premium product from the house of Lenovo that features a light and durable form factor. The laptop features up to 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800U series processors along with AMD Radeon Graphics. The laptop is also available with optional NVIDIA GeForce MX450 graphics for those who need it for content creation.
Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon features a 14-inch QHD+ display that comes with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, 90Hz refresh rate and up to 600 nits of brightness. It is also equipped with Dolby Vision, and a VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500 certification. The display is surrounded by narrow bezel on all sides for an immersive view.
The new Lenovo laptop is packed with up to 16GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 1TB PCIe M.2 SSD internal storage. It features a 61WHrs battery that promises a battery life of up to 14.5 hours. It comes with dual charger for fast charging of up to 3 hours backup within 15 minutes. Connectivity options on the Yoga Slim 7 Carbon include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, three USB Type-C and an audio combo jack.
Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon is available in a Cloud Grey hue and measures 14.9mm at its thinnest point. It weighs just 1.1kg. Th laptop will retail for a starting price of $1,289.99 (roughly Rs 95,000) and is expected to be available starting October 2021.
Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro
Lenovo has also launched the Yoga Slim 7 Pro as a machine meant for creators. The laptop is powered by up to AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processors and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU for graphical performance. It uses up to 16GB dual-channel DDR4 RAM and up to 1TB of storage PCIe M.2 SSD2.
The Yoga Slim 7 Pro features a 16-inch QHD IPS touch screen with a 16:10 layout, max brightness of 500 nits, and up to 120Hz refresh rate. The display is TUV Eye Comfort certified and features Dolby Vision; VESA Certified Display HDR 400, and support for 100 percent sRGB color gamut.
Lenovo says that it has increased the size of the touchpad on the Yoga Slim 7 Pro by 11 per cent as compared to the previous gen device. There is a 75WHr battery that promises up to 12.5 hours of battery life and comes with Rapid Charge Boost for fast charging. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, two USB 3.2 Type-A, SD Card, HDMI, USB Type-C and an audio jack.
The laptop measures 17.4mm at its thinnest point and comes with a starting weight of 2.1kg. It will be available in Cloud Grey or Storm Grey hue at a starting price of $1,449 (roughly Rs 1,06,000) likely in October 2021.
Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook
Alongside the premium laptops, Lenovo has also introduced an entry-level device for students and those working on the move. The all-new 2-in-1 detachable by Lenovo runs on the Chrome OS ecosystem and comes with touch and pen support. It will retail with, and keyboard and stand included in the box.
As for its specs, the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook is powered by Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor, up to 256GB eMMC SSD of storage, and up to 8GB LPDDR4x of memory. It will run on the Google Chrome operating system that features Google Play gaming and apps like Spotify and YouTube.
The laptop/ tablet features a 13.3-inch Full HD OLED display with 400nits brightness and 100 per cent DCI-P3 color gamut. IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook comes with a 42WHr battery that promises a battery life of up to 15 hours.
The Lenovo Chromebook is 7.24 mm thick and weighs 700 grams. It will be available in Storm Grey or Abyss Blue colour options at $429.99 (roughly Rs 32,000) starting October.
Lenovo Tab P12 Pro
As for tablets, Lenovo has introduced the Tab P12 Pro as its flagship Android tablet. It features an all-metal build with 12.6-inch AMOLED (2560 x 1600) touchscreen display that comes with a 16:10 aspect ratio, up to 120Hz refresh rate and up to 600 nits of brightness. The display also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+.
The new Lenovo tablet is powered by Snapdragon 870 processor, up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It runs Android 11 out of the box and features Lenovo’s new Project Unity software. The device is backed by a 10200mAh battery that also supports 45W quick charging.
The tablet retails with a full-sized snap-on keyboard with a large built-in trackpad. It also comes with support for Lenovo Precision Pen 3. The device weighs 565 grams and measures 5.63mm across its thickness. It will be available in Storm Grey hue in two options – Wi-Fi only and model.
Wi-Fi only variant will start at$609.99 (roughly Rs 45,000) and is expected to be available starting October 2021. The 5G model of the Lenovo Tab P12 Pro is not available in North America at this time but is expected to be offered in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) in October 2021 and will start at 899 (roughly Rs 78,000).
Lenovo Tab P11 5G
Lenovo is calling this one its first “consumer Android tablet with dedicated 5G.” Lenovo Tab P11 5G has been designed to be ultra-portable for school and office goers and is powered by the Snapdragon 750G 5G processor. It features up to 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM and makes use of a 7700mAh battery with up to 12 hours of battery life and 20W quick charge.
The tablet features a 11-inch IPS display with 2K resolution and Dolby Vision support and 400nits brightness. It runs Android 11 out of the box and comes with support for optional devies like Lenovo Precision Pen 2 and a keyboard pack. The tablet weighs only 520 grams and will retail in three colour options – Moon White, Storm Grey and Modernist Teal.
Lenovo Tab P11 5G is not currently available in North America but is expected to be offered in EMEA ata starting price of 499 (roughly Rs 43,000) (without VAT) from October.
In addition to these products, Lenovo also introduced its Smart Wireless Earbuds and three new monitors during the event. The three monitors are ThinkVision P27u-20, Lenovo G27e-20 and Lenovo G24e-20, priced at $769 (roughly Rs 56,000), $239.99 (roughly Rs 17,000) and $209.99 (roughly Rs 15,000) respectively. The first will be available starting December this year while the latter two will mark their debut in October. As for the Lenovo Smart Wireless Earbuds, the audio accessory will start at $99.99 (roughly Rs 7,000) and is expected to be available at select retailers starting the ongoing Q3 2021.
